One of the easiest things to grill is a pork butt roast. It will cook evenly in the oven, but it will cook faster on the grill. A common mistake people make with pork roasts is they cook them too long. Cooking a roast until the internal temperature reaches 145 degrees F will be enough to make sure the meat is tender and cooked through. However, if you find the pork is still tough, then it might be time to pull it off the grill and wrap it up for a few more minutes. If you find the roast starts to burn, place some aluminum foil under the roast to prevent it from cooking too long. This is a simple recipe that is easy to make. Let’s cook the pork butt roast on the grill.

The Process
To cook a pork boston butt roast on the grill, you’ll need to fire up the grill first. While it’s heating up, prepare the pork. First, remove the skin, fat and excess meat from the meat. Then, sprinkle salt and pepper on the meat. If you’re using a pork butt roast that has bone, you’ll want to remove it and separate the meat from the bone. Remove the bone from the pork butt and then rub it with salt and pepper. Prepare the grill to 450º. Place the pork butt roast on the grill and cook it for 40-45 minutes. Don’t cook it longer than that, or the outside will dry out. Turn the pork butt roast every 15 minutes, and you’ll be done in 40-45 minutes.
The Results
We’re going to use a pork boston butt roast from our last tutorial. To preheat the grill, preheat the grill to high for 15 minutes. Once the grill is ready, spray the grill grates with vegetable oil spray, and set the boston butt on the grill. Cook for 30 minutes, flip the meat and cook for another 30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 145 degrees Fahrenheit. When the roast is cooked, remove it from the grill. Let the meat rest for 10 minutes before slicing it. If you want a lot of liquid when you’re slicing the meat, you can add 1/2 cup water to the roasting pan and place it over the flame. Once the water is hot, let it simmer for 5 minutes. Add 1 cup of soy sauce and 1/2 cup of rice vinegar. Pour the liquid over the sliced pork. Let it rest for 20 minutes before serving.
