How To Make Chocolate Cake Whole30
Here is a whole30 chocolate cake recipe that is made without white flour. The original recipe uses honey as the sweetener, but I substituted coconut sugar and it worked perfectly! I hope you enjoy it! Let me know in the comments if you make this recipe!
Ingredients
Ingredients:
– 2 egg whites
– 1/2 cup sugar
– 1 cup oats
– 1/2 cup almond flour
– 1/2 cup shredded coconut
– 1/4 cup cacao
– 2 tbsp. vanilla extract
– 1 tbsp. coconut oil
– 3 tbsp. cocoa powder
– 1/4 tsp. sea salt
– 1/2 cup coconut flour
*If you are not following a vegan diet, you can use 1 egg and 1/2 cup of dairy-free cheese (such as almond or soy cheese) instead of the egg whites.*
Icing
Icing is the perfect topping for this chocolate cake. It is usually reserved for frosting, but you can use it as a topping for a quick, delicious breakfast. Ingredients: 2 Cups Unsweetened Cocoa Powder – I prefer Hershey’s Dark
3-4 Cup Coconut Milk – Use Almond Milk or Coconut Milk
3 Tbsp. – 5 Tbsp. Granulated Sugar (or Honey)
2 Tbsp. – 4 Tbsp. White Chocolate Chips
Pinch of Salt
Directions:
1. Put coconut milk and granulated sugar in a small saucepan. Bring to a low boil.
2. Stir constantly until mixture thickens. Once thick, add cocoa powder, salt and white chocolate chips.
3. Pour mixture over cake and spread evenly. Allow to cool and serve!
