Pizza Hut was established on July 11, 1948 by two brothers, Oscar and Tony Yepez. At the time, they were trying to make pizza in their home kitchen. Tony, the older brother, became the company’s first manager. From the beginning, Pizza Hut’s menu was filled with Italian dishes, and the company is still owned by the same family that opened it. Today, Pizza Hut is headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri and has more than 10,000 restaurants in more than 75 countries. Some of its dishes include, but are not limited to, fried chicken, lasagna, ravioli, meatball subs, and fruit salads. The company has been around for more than six decades, and Pizza Hut is one of the longest-standing franchises in the world.
How Pizza Hut became a success
Pizza Hut was founded in 1958 by two Americans, the Dave Thomas and Dan O’Donel, as a pizza delivery service that was a spin-off of another pizza delivery service called Quick-E-Food. Thomas and O’Donel were the first two people to use the term Pizza Hut. They were later joined by Roger Hertog, who was a co-owner of the first Pizza Hut restaurant, located in Sacramento, California. The first restaurant was in the front of a gas station, and the first Pizza Hut store was a 2,500 square foot space. The first menu included 15 different varieties of pizza and a hamburger. It was a hit, and it became known as the “6-minute meal.”

a short history
Pizza Hut started in 1958 by two college students, Jerry and Frank Yablonski. They named their new restaurant Pizzeria Uno, but it didn’t catch on until they changed it to Pizza Hut. The original company was not a chain, but in the mid-1970s, Pizza Hut became a regional chain. It started out in California and eventually spread to 13 other states, including Canada. The Yablonski’s were inducted into the franchise hall of fame in 2006.
Pizza Hut and the world
Pizza Hut was founded in 1957 as a subsidiary of Pillsbury. Pillsbury owned a number of restaurants under the names of its subsidiaries. The first Pizza Hut restaurant was opened on January 25, 1959. There were four people who opened the first Pizza Hut restaurant: its founder and president, Scott, and his brother, Dan. Another of Scott’s friends, Larry, was hired as a pizza delivery driver. In May 1962, the first Pizza Hut restaurant was sold to three brothers from Mobile, Alabama. The three brothers owned a drugstore named Upjohn and decided to open a Pizza Hut in order to provide an additional service to their customers. They used the leftover pizza from making pizzas to open the first Pizza Hut restaurant.
