Making a delicious meatloaf is one of my favorite meals. And my family has always loved meatloaf too. But one of the things that’s a little tricky when it comes to making meatloaf is determining when it’s done. Most people recommend letting the meatloaf rest for 10-15 minutes before serving. But is that really the best thing to do? Well, there’s actually a better way to do it. You can use an instant read meat thermometer. Now I know what you’re thinking. “Ehh, but I always see the meat thermometer recipes that say use an instant read meat thermometer, but I’ve never seen anyone actually use it.” Well, I’ve got a solution for you. Most of the time, I like to cook meatloaf on a Friday night. I know I’ve got a great meal coming up for the weekend and I want to be able to look back on it later in the week and be able to tell my family and friends how great it is. So I decided to try using an instant read meat thermometer.

The easiest way to know when your meatloaf is done is to use an instant-read meat thermometer. You just insert the tip of the thermometer into the center of your meatloaf. You can also use a food thermometer, which has a probe that you insert into your meatloaf. And of course, you could always just bite into it and see how it feels.

Use the spatula to flip the meatloaf over. Cook the meatloaf for another 30 minutes to an hour. Then take it out of the oven and let it cool for about 20 minutes. Once it’s cool, you can remove it from the pan and serve. Meatloaf should be served hot. Serve hot meatloaf on a plate that has been warmed in the oven. Don’t serve cold meatloaf.
