How To Fry Rice The Korean Way

1) Measure 1 1/2 cups of rice and put it in a saucepan.
2) Add a 1/4 cup of oil to the pan and heat on medium heat for 5 minutes.
3) Pour in a 1/4 cup of cornstarch and stir for 2 to 3 minutes.
4) Then pour in some soy sauce, a 1/2 tsp of oyster sauce and a 1/2 tsp of sesame oil.
5) Turn the heat up to medium-high and add in 2 tbsp of sesame oil.
6) Add in a 1/4 cup of sugar.
7) Add some salt and garlic powder.
8) Then pour in a 1/4 cup of rice vinegar and stir.
9) Add in some scallions and other spices.
10) Then taste it! If it tastes good, continue to add in more soy sauce and spices. If it tastes too spicy, add in more sugar.
11) Turn the heat down to low, cover and let it cook for about 5 minutes.
12) Then turn the heat back up to medium-high and wait until the rice becomes firm.
13) Then cut the rice in bite-sized pieces and put on a plate.
14) If the oil is not too hot, put in a bit of kimchi.
15) Add in chopped scallions.

What is the Ideal Ratio of Rice to Water

The ideal ratio of rice to water for making fried rice is four parts rice and one part water. In this recipe, the ratio of rice to water is three to one. You will use your rice cooker to prepare your rice and measure out the water. Then, you will prepare your stock and boil the water with the stock to make the base of the dish. To the rice, I added some chopped onion, green onion, carrots, and broccoli. I cooked all of my vegetables for about 2-3 minutes. Finally, I added my sauce.
