Recipe for Cast Iron Skillet Rib Eye
Ingredients:
– 1 1/2 to 2 pounds Ribeye Steak
– 1 teaspoon kosher salt
– 1/2 teaspoon ground pepper
– 1/2 teaspoon granulated garlic
– 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
– 4 to 6 potatoes of your choice sliced thinly
– 2 to 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
Method:
In the cast iron skillet, heat the olive oil over medium high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the steak and brown it. Reduce the heat to medium. Once the meat is browned, add the seasonings and continue to cook the steak until it reaches an internal temperature of 135 degrees. Add the potatoes and continue to cook.
Ingredients to Use For a Cast Iron Skillet
The cast iron skillet is a great cooking tool for many reasons. It can easily reach high temperatures, which can be helpful in searing meat, caramelizing onions, or sauteing garlic. Another great thing about cast iron is that it requires minimal clean-up. You don’t need to wash your skillet after every use, and it won’t scratch your stovetop.
Get Boneless Rib Eye Steak Cooked Right
In order to make your steak the best it can be, you need to learn how to cook it correctly. First, you want to make sure that you don’t use too much oil. Oil is good for steaks, but you don’t want to drown the meat in oil. If the steak is too dry, your end result will be dry and tough. You want to start cooking your steak at a low temperature in order to get a nice crust on it. Once the steak is done, you want to take it out of the pan to rest for a few minutes before you slice it.
