Roasting Method

Roasting Method: Roasting meat is a critical step in making a flavorful and tender steak. Before roasting, marinate the meat in liquid such as fat or marinade for a minimum of an hour. This will allow the meat to absorb flavor. If you’re cooking a large piece, the best way to prevent uneven cooking is to put it on the top rack and move it around regularly, rather than just letting it sit. Ideally, you should use a meat thermometer to be sure that the temperature reaches 145 F at the thickest point of the meat. Most steak houses will have a steak that is cooked to the same temperature, however you can try to approximate this in your home.

How Long Should It Roast?

I hope you love to cook like I do. But the most important thing when cooking a 5 lb chuck roast is timing. If you want to know how long your roast should be cooking, just follow the instructions on the package. When the meat is cooked, the juice is clear and it’s easy to cut into thick pieces. You may want to check it every 10 minutes or so. Use an instant read thermometer to check the internal temperature. The temperature should be about 145 degrees. It should have a little pink color to it. This means that the meat is cooked all the way through. When done, remove from the oven and set it aside. Allow the roast to cool at least 15 minutes before you slice it. Once it has cooled, slice it and serve. This should make it easy to slice up and enjoy!
