This is because the water inside the cooked egg has vaporized, creating a gas that can cause the entire egg shell to burst. If you are concerned about this, you should either cook the whole egg or boil it separately. You can also try boiling the white meat separately, which will prevent the shell from bursting. Another way to prevent this is to place the whites in separate containers and cover them with plastic wrap. Then, put the eggs in individual containers, such as glass or ceramic jars, before heating.
