To bake a potato in the oven: You’ll need two medium potatoes. Wash them and leave them to dry for about 10 minutes. Use a sharp knife to cut them into the round shape of potatoes.

Potatoes are a healthy, low calorie food. They are also a good source of carbohydrates and minerals. To prepare potatoes, scrub the potatoes to remove any dirt and then cut into large wedges. Cook in a microwave for 5-10 minutes until soft. Or, place in a pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil and simmer for about 15 minutes until fork tender. Drain the water and season with a little salt and freshly ground pepper. Note that because of the high starch content of potatoes, if they’re overcooked, the starch will turn into sugar and they will begin to dry out.
