A medium sized roll will be about 8 to 12 inches in diameter. A large roll will typically be 18 to 24 inches in diameter. You’ll also find smaller sizes at sushi bars, but they are normally much smaller than the standard roll. You can also order additional items on top of the standard roll, such as avocado, cucumber, and mayonnaise. There is a lot of variety in the combinations of ingredients. Sushi rolls are generally made with a rice base. The type of rice used varies by region. There are also other ingredients you can find, such as pickled ginger, California roll, and eel.
