Know the correct chicken thigh cooking time
A common question I receive is whether to bake, broil, or cook a chicken thigh in the crockpot. The answer is to broil. First, let me start with what you should know about chicken thighs. I’ve covered all this information in the How to Cook Chicken thigh post. First, it is important to know what the chicken thigh actually is. Chicken thighs are the smaller thigh of the chicken. They are referred to as “regular thighs” if they are between 3 and 5 ounces. Chicken thighs are the most commonly used part of the chicken and are typically sold whole, or cut into steaks. When buying chicken thighs, it’s important to make sure they’re fresh. But the best way to tell if a chicken thigh is fresh is to check the package. If the package says “fresh”, that means it is within an hour or two of being cooked. Check the expiration date or look at the packaging, as many grocery stores will sell chicken thighs that have been frozen.
4 hours on low
I use a 4-quart slow cooker for most of my food. In order to properly cook chicken thighs in a slow cooker, you need to cook them at a low temperature for a long time. I don’t have an exact time on how long to cook them on high, but I know that I have never cooked them for 4 hours on high. Instead, I cook them on low for 4 hours. I also cook them on low for 2 or 3 hours.
3 hours on high
All right everyone, today’s recipe is chicken thighs. A great meal to make in the crock pot on the low or high setting. Here is the prep part of the recipe. Make sure you get some quart size zip lock bags. In those bags you will place the thighs and sprinkle your seasoning over the top. Make sure you place all the seasoning in the zip lock bag.

Make sure to use chicken thighs rather than chicken legs for this recipe. Legs can be too tough to cook in a crock pot. You can check out the full recipe by clicking the link below.
