The cooking time for a 14 lb turkey depends on how you cook it. If you cook your turkey at 350° F (176° C) for one hour per pound, your turkey will be done in about 7 hours. However, if you do not have a meat thermometer, it is recommended that you cook your turkey until the thickest part of the turkey reaches an internal temperature of 160° F (71° C). If you like, you can do a practice run before you actually cook your turkey. If you don’t have a meat thermometer, you can do a practice run by using the touch-test method. After about five minutes, take the turkey’s temperature again and then continue to cook the turkey. If the temperature is between 160° F and 165° F (71° C and 74° C), your turkey will be safe. If you are going to use a pressure cooker, it is recommended that you cook your turkey at 15 lbs for 30 minutes, then reduce pressure and cook the turkey at 15 lbs for another hour and 15 minutes.
