Tips
Green peppers are available year-round, but there are different types of peppers with different flavors. You can choose from sweet, hot or mild peppers. Some of the most common types are bell peppers, red, green and yellow. For canning, you’ll need a pressure canner and a way to measure the pressure. You’ll also need some jars and lids, and some spices and herbs. You’ll also need some lemons or limes, as well as some salt. First, wash the peppers well and remove the stem and seeds. Cut the peppers in half or quarters, and remove the stems. Next, remove the seeds and seeds from inside the pepper. You may also want to blanch the peppers in a large pot of boiling water for about 30 seconds. Once the pepper has cooled, you can peel off the skins with a vegetable peeler. The pepper should be cut into thin strips. Next, in a large bowl, combine the spices and herbs. Put the pepper into the bowl with the spices and herbs, and mix well. Next, pack the jars with the peppers. Place the lids on the jars and screw them on. You can fill the jars two-thirds of the way, leaving room for the peppers to expand. If you are canning peppers, you can use either regular canning jars or regular glass canning jars with plastic lids. For the lids, you can use regular lids with a plastic
Equipment
The equipment needed to can and store pickled green peppers is relatively simple. If you have a basement, or you know someone with a basement, you can use a food safe canner to process green peppers. For those who don’t have access to a basement, you can use a water bath canner, which is usually found in a kitchen cabinet. When you’re ready to can the peppers, you will need to process them first. Depending on the type of canner you use, this can be done in two different ways. The first method is to put the raw, uncooked peppers in a water bath canner and seal it up with the lid. The canner will need to be placed in a sink or other place with enough water for the canner to be submerged. The peppers will need to be covered with the water level to ensure they are submerged. The hot water will begin boiling once it is in the sink. The heat from the water will be able to heat up the peppers, which will then be transferred to the water in the canner. You will then need to process the peppers in this canner for 5 to 7 minutes. When the processing time is over, you will need to immediately remove the peppers from the canner. This will cool the peppers down enough to transfer them from the canner to a clean, covered container. The second method to can the peppers is to heat them in a water bath canner. This method requires more
