When to add spices?
Spices are always used at the end of cooking, cooking them causes the spices to lose their aroma. Sprinkling them at the end of cooking will allow you to preserve all the flavor of the spice and preserve its benefits and properties.

A casserole or a soup: the ideal for casseroles and soups is to add the spices once the onions/shallots/garlics have browned in oil or butter. Once they become translucent, add the spices and mix before adding your vegetables.

How much water for rice cooker?
For two people: 1 glass of raw rice rinsed in cold water + 2 glasses of water. For 4 people: 2 glasses of rice rinsed in cold water + 4 glasses of water and so on… These measurements also apply to a saucepan with a lid put on low heat.
How to dose rice and water?
Count 2 volumes of water for one volume of rice. Pour the water into a large saucepan. Add a pinch of coarse salt and bring to a boil over high heat. Then throw in the grains of rice and cook covered and over low heat for 10 to 20 minutes according to the instructions on the rice packet.
How to cook rice in a steamer?
In the Dutch oven, put at least 1 liter of water then place the steamer with the lid. For white rice, the cooking time is about 30 minutes, once it has reached the right temperature. For brown rice, count between 40 and 50 minutes depending on the desired texture. The steamed rice is tender and appetizing.
