Hi im dan a taylor i just bought a traeger pro 3400 22 lb countertop model and ive been having problems trying to cook a tri tip over it. im having trouble being precise with the amount of time that the tri tip is cooked on it. im using a 12 qt pot it cook over 275 for 3 hours then at an internal temp of 155 degrees and a pressure of 20lbs for another hour then its cooked. there ive been having????s with it and i been told that its not cooked because it burned or if i lower the temp to 170 it will burn it. any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

General Instructions

In order to cook a tri tip on a Traeger, follow the following instructions. Put the tri tip on a cutting board. This is the bottom of the tri tip. Use a sharp knife to cut off the thick part of the tri tip, this is the bottom fat part. Remove the bottom fat from the tri tip and set it aside. Cut the tri tip in half lengthwise. This is the middle part of the tri tip. Cut the middle part of the tri tip off of the flat end of the tri tip. This is the top part of the tri tip. Using a sharp knife, cut the top part of the tri tip off of the tri tip. This is the top part of the tri tip. Take the tri tip and place it on the tri tip platform. Then set the tri tip platform on the cooking grid. For safety reasons, the tri tip platform and the cooking grid should be above the fire ring. Set the timer for 6 hours. When the timer starts, preheat the cooker using the set temperature and cooking method. After the timer is done cooking, turn the cooker off and remove the tri tip. If you want the tri tip to be ready to eat, place it on a cutting board. Move the tri tip to a cutting board by turning the tri tip over. Turn the tri tip over and push it through the cutting board. Continue to do this until the tri tip is thin enough to eat.
