Don’t worry, everything is going to be okay. Are you feeling very stressed? Are you having a hard time with a difficult relationship or challenging work situation? You don’t have to pretend everything is okay. You have a lot going on right now. Take some time to think about what’s going on and how you can make it better. If you need to talk to someone, try talking with a loved one. Or if you want to get away from it all, take some time to relax, which can help you work through a stressful situation. Or you can even get some help. If you feel overwhelmed, don’t hesitate to ask for help from a counselor or doctor. Take some time to really process what’s happening and take good care of yourself. Don’t worry, everything is going to be okay.

will you miss things if you just decide not to care anymore?

Usually you don’t just “decide not to care anymore.” In fact, it’s the opposite. But you can start to notice that you start to lose your sense of motivation and direction. People can become uninterested in things they once cared about. This is called apathy. Apathy is actually a mental health condition that is often caused by depression and may include feelings of helplessness and worthlessness. For example, if you’ve been an avid reader for years, you may have noticed that you’re only reading books that you’ve already read. Or, you’ve noticed that you used to enjoy going to the park, but now you don’t go at all.

is life just a series of experiences or something more?

There are many reasons why you may not be as happy as you were before. Perhaps your spouse just left you for someone else or you lost a job. It could be that you’ve just turned forty or your biological clock is telling you to move on. However, if there is something else going on, you may need to find the root cause. Finding the root cause may mean some therapy, or you could try some advice or coping skills. Perhaps you need to take a break from social media, or just check your phone less. Or, maybe you need to spend more time with the people you care about. Regardless of what it is, don’t lose sight of what is really important in life. Take a step back and look at the bigger picture. You will not only find meaning in life but also a way to live.
