What this means is that you feel guilty when you’re awake and guilty when you’re asleep, and sometimes this can be hard to deal with. So, how do you get over this?

When we make a mistake or fall short of our standards, we fear being rejected. This can be because we are worried about being found out or because we want to be “right”. We also try to protect ourselves by hiding the truth and trying to rationalize our actions. This can lead to another reason that we feel guilty: we punish ourselves by making ourselves feel bad about the mistake.

They may also believe that they have no control over them.

Why Do We Feel Guilty For Things We Don’t Do?

The real reason we feel guilty for things we didn’t do is because our conscience is telling us what to do. That’s why when you think about something bad, we usually regret it. This is why guilt is so bad. It usually makes us feel like we’re going to hell, or like we’re a bad person, so we end up doing less, and less, and less.
