Pork is known for being a slow cooker’s best friend. Slow cooking your meat takes away any gristle or tough muscle. Tender meat comes out of the slow cooker more succulent and delicious. After the meat cooks, it’s easy to transform it into pulled pork. There are two basic ways to cook pulled pork, but the best method depends on what you’re making. Slow cooker: Remove the meat from the slow cooker and pat dry. Let’s use some mustard, some ketchup, some molasses, some brown sugar, and some garlic powder. In a small bowl, combine these ingredients. Place the meat back in the slow cooker. Combine all of the sauce ingredients and mix well. Place the lid on the slow cooker and cook on low for 4-6 hours. Slow cooker: Follow the above method of cooking, but skip the sauce. Place the cooked meat in a roasting dish and cover with a sheet of aluminum foil. Place in the oven and cook at 325 degrees for about an hour. Remove from the oven and place in a serving dish. If you choose to eat it with the sauce, use a barbecue sauce on the meat.
