They purchased the business and started to open whataburger in April of 1955. Now, the chain has 200 locations in Texas and an estimated 34,000 employees. In total, the chain has over 200 locations, and the first location was in Corpus Christi, Texas. At that time, the city was known for having a lot of military personnel. Over time, the chain grew and expanded to areas around Texas, including Odessa and many other areas. Today, the chain is known for its hamburgers and fries.
