How to Treat Yeast Infection
A yeast infection is an infection caused by the presence of fungus. Your body normally contains many types of fungi and some of them are beneficial. One of these is Candida Albicans. However, if the fungus grows out of control, it can cause problems and the condition is known as Candida. It is usually an overgrowth of yeast, but there are other types of yeast. The most common types of yeast infections are vaginal infections, oral thrush, and diaper rash. Yeast can be found on the skin, the vagina, and the gastrointestinal tract. Your doctor will treat yeast infection with antifungal medications. An example of an antifungal is Clotrimazole. You will take this orally and will need to use a vaginal yeast infection treatment for vaginal yeast infection. There are two ways to treat a vaginal yeast infection. These are by using an antifungal medication such as Clotrimazole or by using a cream, ointment, and/or suppository that will also contain an antifungal.
