If you have leftover bbq chicken thighs in your fridge that are going to go bad within a few days, you don’t want to throw them out. Instead, you want to give them a second chance. Here’s how to do that.
You Can Freeze It All
You can freeze leftover bbq chicken thighs in different ways. You can slice them, freeze them on a cookie sheet, then put them in a freezer bag. And, you can freeze them in a container. The container will need to be big enough for the thighs, but small enough to fit into your freezer. Once the thighs are frozen, you can move them to a freezer bag. Or, if you don’t have a freezer bag, you can put the thighs in a container that you can fill with ice to keep the thighs from thawing. When you are ready to serve the chicken, you can either thaw it in the microwave or on the stove. If you thaw the chicken in the microwave, you should let it sit in the microwave for 10 to 15 minutes. And, if you thaw it on the stove, you should boil water, then place the container into the boiling water. If you thaw it in a microwave or in boiling water, it is best to let the chicken thaw for a few minutes in these different ways before you cook it.
