What Is The Best Thing To Use On A Baby To Sleep?

There are so many things you can use to help your baby sleep. I recommend using a sound machine to help with that “whimper” sound a baby makes before they fall asleep. Many parents report that they actually fall asleep faster when using a sound machine. Also, it helps to get your baby used to the sound of the sound machine before you start using it in the crib. You can also use a swaddle, shushing blanket, or a pacifier to calm your baby. If you notice your baby is shaking or has other physical reactions that might indicate they are about to fall asleep, you can put your hand on their back to keep them from shaking.

8 Month Old Baby Development

Here’s a snapshot of the things that your baby should be doing at this stage in development: Sleeping on their tummy or side in a safe and well-ventilated space. Your baby will now be developing the ability to move from tummy to back and from front to back. They may start to roll and sit independently, though they will still need help. Your baby may now start to move around by rolling from side to side, like a wheel. Your baby should be sleeping about 12 to 18 hours a day, usually at night. They may need to sleep in a sling or carrier during the day, but they should still be sleeping in a safe and well-ventilated space. Your baby should be eating six to eight meals a day and gaining weight as expected. Your baby’s ears should be hearing sounds and they should be able to focus on sound.

Sleeping Positions For Newborns

If they are rolling or moving too much, they should be placed on a soft surface to help them relax. A blanket or a pad is good to use, but they need to be close to your skin to help regulate your baby’s body temperature.
