What Temperature Makes for a Medium Rare Steak?

When cooking meat at a high temperature, the outside of the meat can actually cook faster than the inside, creating a medium rare steak. However, it is possible to cook steak at a temperature much lower than 115 degrees. This is typically done with steak that has been brined.
