Fats are the primary source of energy for the body. In order for the body to use fats as a source of energy, the body must first digest it. The body digests fats through two processes. The first process is lipolysis. Lipolysis is the process of breaking down fat. The second process is lipogenesis. Lipogenesis is the process of making new fats. Fats are made in the body through a process called adipogenesis.

People can survive and live long without the calories provided by fat, but they cannot live and function without it.
Why Do We Need Fats?

These facts can help you figure out how many calories and fat grams are in your food. But it’s important to remember that nutrition facts are just a portion of the story. Other factors to consider include things like fat content, calories, cholesterol, and sugar content. This is the basics for reading food labels.
