The added sugars label only applies to foods that contain an artificial sweetener. This means that it is often used on diet sodas. This label also only applies to foods that contain added sugar. There are also other terms such as lactose free, reduced sugar, or zero calorie. All of these terms are typically used in advertisements on food labels.
