Varieties

Bananas can also be consumed as a snack or meal replacement. One of the more famous varieties of bananas is the Cavendish banana. This variety is known for its large size and relatively low acid levels.

During the 1600s, bananas were introduced to Europe and they became a major fruit in the Caribbean and South America. There are more than 40 varieties, with more than 8,000 known banana-like plants.

Bananas are usually shipped around the world, but they can also be sold directly in a grocery store. In terms of nutrition, bananas are very high in carbohydrates. For every 100 grams of bananas, there are about 5 grams of carbohydrates. Bananas contain fiber, potassium, and Vitamin B6. Bananas contain cholesterol, however, so it’s best to limit your intake.
