Why Do Babies Need Vitamin B12?
While no one is entirely sure why newborns need vitamin B12, the evidence points to it as an essential nutrient. Newborns get all of their vitamins and minerals from their mothers, and B12 is an exception. Newborns are born with a small amount of B12 stored in their liver. If you have trouble absorbing vitamin B12, you can take a multivitamin supplement that has B12. You should also have adequate protein in your diet.
