While we usually associate colors with food and drink, we’re beginning to see that there’s a certain beauty in the transition from colors to their naturally-occurring counterparts. We’ve all seen the colorful fruits and vegetables in our local grocery stores, and now we can even see this color in the products that we buy.
How to Know if Your Poop is Black
Poop can tell you a lot about your body. But, if your poop is black, it’s a red flag that your stomach is not in a healthy state. Many diseases or medical conditions can cause diarrhea, but black poop is a warning sign that something is wrong. Black poop is very difficult to see. It’s the reason doctors recommend using the toilet after a bowel movement. But, if you don’t, there are some tips you can try. First, try to change your diet to include more fiber. Fiber will help prevent your stool from becoming black and large. When it does get black, try to keep it soft. Another tip is to drink plenty of fluids. The more fluids you drink, the easier it will be to flush out your system. Finally, keep a journal of your bowel movements. Writing down what you ate and drank, and the color of your stool will help. If you notice a change in your stool, you should see a doctor.
What It Means if Your Poop is Black
As discussed, black poop is a sign of your body breaking down toxins, but this doesn’t always mean that your poop is black. If you have black poop, it’s important that you don’t take it as a signal to stop eating healthy foods. In fact, drinking a lot of water can actually make your poop more brown or even pink. If you want to make your poop black again, it’s important that you get more fiber in your diet. Fiber is present in a wide variety of foods, including vegetables, beans and whole grains.
How to Know If Your Dog is Constipated
The signs of constipation are very common in dogs. A common sign is passing a lot of stool, known as diarrhea. This can happen because of an infection, or an underlying medical condition. If your dog passes a lot of dry, hard poop that is sticky and smelly, this can also be a sign of constipation. This is a more serious issue, and your veterinarian can check your dog to make sure that it isn’t caused by an infection.
How Your Poop Changes Over Time
As you age, the bacteria in your gut will change as well. This change is known as the gut microbiome. There are hundreds of different types of bacteria in the human gut. Each of these bacteria are essential for digestion, absorption of nutrients and immune health. As you age, the microbiome in your gut will change. This is especially noticeable in the gut’s outer layer, which is the mucous layer. Mucous changes with age, and this can change the makeup of the bacteria in your gut. As a result, your stool changes over time. As your stool changes, so will the color. Stool color refers to the presence or absence of blood in the stool. It is a color that is almost always present, and it is one of the first signs of an intestinal problem, such as constipation or diarrhea. Since stool usually contains bacteria, it will change color and will not be white anymore. It will be more of a darker, yellow color.

If you find your poop black for an extended period of time, you may want to see your doctor.
