If your dog is having diarrhea, you can get it to stop by giving him/her a delicious bowl of baked chicken. A recent study found that dogs that are given freshly baked chicken have a much better response to diarrhea than dogs given just water. Dogs that were given baked chicken had diarrhea only once, whereas dogs that were given water had diarrhea more than twice a day. In fact, three out of four dogs that were given baked chicken stopped having diarrhea within a few days.
Tips for dealing with diarrhea
Every pet owner knows that diarrhea is one of the worst things that a dog or cat can go through. In fact, about a third of dogs will experience diarrhea at some point in their life. Most of the time, the illness goes away on its own, but it can be extremely dangerous if you don’t treat it correctly.

Many veterinarians recommend that you not change your dog’s diet or give him any medication to treat diarrhea. With very mild cases of diarrhea, your dog may only have an increased stool volume. Because he has no other symptoms, you won’t be able to tell if this is diarrhea. If you take your dog to the veterinarian, the veterinarian will diagnose the problem based on your dog’s symptoms and the nature of his stool. With more severe cases of diarrhea, the dog may become dehydrated. To treat this, the veterinarian may give your dog a saline solution. This will help to rehydrate your dog. If your dog is very dehydrated, the veterinarian may also give him IV fluids or even oral fluids. If your dog has eaten something that caused the diarrhea, this could be preventing him from absorbing fluids. If your dog has a red, bloated stomach, it may be a sign that he is seriously dehydrated.
How to Deal With Diarrhea in Puppies
Diarrhea in puppies is extremely serious, but it can be managed. The first thing you should do is clean the litter box and make sure it’s not too dirty. It’s important that your puppy gets an opportunity to relieve itself after it eats. You can put a towel down, if it’s in a crate. You should also clean the bottom of the crate, even if the puppy hasn’t peed there. You can use warm water and a mild soap. Using a bleach based cleaner can be harmful to your puppy.
Causes of diarrhea in dogs
The dog can have diarrhea because of disease, injury, or poison. Some dog diarrhea is mild and is easily treated with medication and change of diet. With the mild diarrhea, the dog will be thirsty and uncomfortable. It may have signs of abdominal pain or vomiting. With the more serious cases, the diarrhea can be bloody. And the dog may have a fever or be lethargic. If the diarrhea continues or worsens, the dog may have a weakness or be unable to walk. Signs of more serious diarrhea may include vomiting, blood in the dog’s stool, and diarrhea that runs out of the dog’s rectum.
