The fruits of the spirit are mentioned throughout the Bible. In fact, there are six that are listed in the Bible. They are: joy, peace, love, patience, kindness, and generosity. These fruits of the spirit are a great way to remind us to stay focused on the things that are most important in life. A good way to do this is by remembering the things we can appreciate. For example, instead of focusing on the time you spent arguing with a friend or co-worker, you could look at the moment you were having a meaningful conversation.
What are the fruits of the Spirit?
The fruit of the Spirit are the characteristics of a Christian, and are meant to help us live more obediently to God.
How do they build us up?
The Christian name “fruits of the Spirit” comes from the New Testament book of Galatians 5:22-23. The word “fruit” refers to the harvest of plants, crops or livestock. In the Bible, fruit is the end result of a process. It is not something you have at the end, but rather the thing that you grow through a process. For example, an apple tree only becomes a tree with apples when it first begins to bear fruit. That fruit is a result of many years of process. Similarly, in the Bible, the fruit of the Spirit is not some magical end result. Rather, it is something we must grow and mature through a process. In a negative sense, fruit of the Spirit is a behavior or a quality that is in your character that is the result of the process of the Spirit working in you.
How are they used in the Gospel?
The fruit of the Spirit refers to the good work of the Christian and our fruit of the Spirit is described in Galatians 5:22–23.
The blessings of the Spirit
The Bible calls the Holy Spirit the “blessing,” and we see His benefits in our lives. One of the biggest blessings that He provides is the gift of salvation. This gift was granted to us as we accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior. This gift of salvation gives us peace and joy in this life and eternal life in heaven with God when we die. Another blessing is the gift of faith. God’s promises are true, and the Holy Spirit helps us keep them in our hearts. Another blessing is the gift of the word of God, and the Holy Spirit helps us understand it. Another blessing is the gift of the gifts of the Spirit. In John 14:16, Jesus says that He would send the Holy Spirit, who would teach us about Him. Jesus also says that He will send us the Spirit when we pray. Another blessing is the gift of healing. One of the most obvious, but important, blessings of the Spirit is found in the gift of healing. When we pray, God heals us and others around us.
The Fruit of the Spirit in our everyday lives
So, what are the fruits of the spirit? These are the fruit of the Holy Spirit and are found in Galatians 5:22-23. We can actually see that there are five different fruits. These are love, joy, peace, patience and kindness. We can also see that these fruit are both perfect and perishable. Meaning, they can not be seen by human eye. The best example of this is with love. It is a feeling you experience in your heart. But we can’t actually see it, unless you pray about it. Love is also an action, which means it can be shown. When someone shows love to another they are showing these fruits to them. But the best way to show love is by simply being kind to another. So, we can see that the fruit of the Spirit can not be seen by human eye. But if we look up, we can see that there are different examples of these fruits in our everyday lives. If we are doing a good deed to someone, then that is one of the fruits of the Spirit.
