Who doesn’t love a grilled cheese sandwich? Who doesn’t love holiday leftovers? Combine the two and you’ve made sandwich magic. This easy turkey and cranberry grilled cheese sandwich recipe is ooey, gooey and full of those holiday flavors we love.

If you don’t have leftover turkey, you could use ham. For vegetarians, simply leave off the meat for a fabulous sandwich that’s cheesy and tart from the cranberry sauce. This will be your new favorite way to use holiday leftovers.

Cuisine: American

Prep Time: 2 minutes

Cook Time: 5 minutes

Total Time: 7 minutes

Ingredients

  • sandwich bread
  • leftover turkey (or ham)
  • leftover cranberry sauce
  • thick slices cheese (brie, mozzarella, gouda, white cheddar work well)
  • butter

Here’s how to make it:

  1. Spread one side of each piece of bread with butter. Put one piece into a hot skillet and top with a slice of cheese, then turkey, then cranberry sauce then another slice of cheese. Top with the other piece of bread, butter side up.
  2. Press down with a spatula and cook until the first side is golden brown. Flip it over and continue to cook until golden brown and cheese has melted.
