How To Make The Perfect Homemade Tomato Basil Soup

Your kids are going to love this meal. This recipe is one that I use often and it is so easy to make. Here is the recipe for the Tomato Basil Soup.
2 to 4 medium tomatoes
2 to 3 cups of water
1 large onion
1 to 2 fresh garlic cloves
2 tablespoons of olive oil
2 tablespoons of chopped fresh basil
2 to 3 cups of canned tomatoes
1/2 cup of dry basil
1 to 2 tablespoons of sugar
Salt and pepper
1. Chop the tomatoes and place in a large stockpot. Pour in 2 to 3 cups of water and add the chopped onion and garlic. Bring to a boil.
2. Reduce the heat to a simmer and cover and let cook for about 15 to 20 minutes.
3. Remove the lid and stir in the olive oil and basil. Let simmer another 5 minutes.
4. Add the salt and pepper, the tomatoes, and the dry basil.
5. Simmer for 15 to 20 minutes. Stir every few minutes to ensure the soup doesn’t stick to the bottom.
6. Serve hot and add extra fresh basil for garnish.

Canning salt is a salt made from sea salt and a natural iodine source. Most common canning salt is the pink kind and doesn’t make your food taste like salt.
