I think the best part about this recipe is the added bonus of eating something delicious while being good for you! Walnuts are packed with healthy fats and fiber. The fact that they are delicious makes them an easy snack to reach for when you’re craving a sweet treat.

Why It is So Delicious?
There is no sweet like candy. But walnut candy does not contain any sugar, and that’s why it’s so delicious. It contains brown sugar, which is an organic compound that is found in many foods. It’s also made up of around 80% protein and 20% fat, which means it’s an extremely nutritious snack. This recipe takes one and a half cups of walnuts and a cup of brown sugar. Then, a tablespoon of vanilla is added to the mixture and a pinch of salt. Then, you will need a teaspoon of baking soda, a cup of flour, and a teaspoon of baking powder. Last, you will need 1 tablespoon of molasses and 1 tablespoon of vegetable shortening. After combining the ingredients, mix all of them with a hand mixer until they are well combined. Then, they are put into small molds and baked at 350°F for 25 minutes. In the last 15 minutes, the molds are covered with baking paper. The molds are then set in a cool, dry area for 4 hours, and the candy is ready to eat.

Preparation
Ingredients:
3/4 cup (120g) butter, melted
1/2 cup (100g) brown sugar
1 cup (100g) granulated sugar
1 cup (100g) organic all-purpose flour
3/4 cup (100g) whole wheat flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup (120ml) milk
1/3 cup (85ml) walnuts
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside. In a bowl, combine the butter, sugars and salt. Stir with a spoon until combined. Add the two flours, and stir with a wooden spoon until it forms a dough. Put the dough in a square on a floured surface, and roll into a rectangle. Spread the melted butter evenly over the dough and sprinkle with cinnamon. Cut into thirty pieces, and add walnuts on top. Roll the pieces of dough up and twist. Arrange the twisted pieces on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for about twenty minutes, until the cookies are golden brown. Remove from oven, and let sit for about two minutes.
