Best Times For
Best times for cooking are before noon in the summer, when the sun is rising, and after noon in the winter, when the sun is setting. Ideally, temperatures should be between 15 and 65 degrees Fahrenheit. When cooking a large meal, turn on your oven around 2 hours before you start. This allows the oven to heat up and warm the kitchen before you start. The first few minutes of the cooking process are the most critical. Make sure your oven is at the proper temperature and that it’s steady, not just heating up and cooling down. This is the time you should be checking the cake to make sure it’s done. Use a toothpick to check the cake and make sure the center is still jiggly when it feels like the center should be firm.
