Cornish Game Hens
Cornish Game Hens are often used as a meat substitute for people who are allergic to chicken or want to avoid red meat. They are very high in protein and also good sources of iron, zinc and vitamin B-12. They are also low in fat and cholesterol and contain a significant amount of fiber. Cornish game hens are usually baked in an oven. To bake a Cornish game hen, you will need to fill the roasting pan with some vegetable oil. After filling the pan, put the roasting pan in the oven and allow the hens to cook for about 40 minutes. To make sure the hens are cooked through, you can check the thigh joint or the thickest part of the thigh. When the thigh joint is no longer pink, the hens are done. Remove the hens from the oven and let them rest for about 20 minutes before serving them.
