When Is The Best Time To Make Your Own Frozen Pies
It’s a busy time of year, but if you love making your own pies, you need to get to it before they’re all sold out! Here’s what to do: Start with filling your recipe for a double recipe of dough. This means you need to prepare twice as much dough. Follow the instructions for making it, and put half of the dough into a pan with a lining of parchment paper. Freeze the dough, and move on to making the pie. The other half of your dough should be rolled out and placed into a freezer bag. Use the rest of your dough for your frozen pie, and freeze that dough. If you can make your pie before the store closes, you’ll get a little more mileage out of it!
How To Make A Perfect Frozen Pies
The best frozen pies do not require refrigeration. They are frozen as soon as they are made and then defrosted as required. Before cooking, use a meat thermometer to make sure that your frozen pies have reached a minimum of 165 F. This allows them to cook without over cooking. Bake the pies for ten to fifteen minutes depending on the size. Do not over bake because it will cause the pie to crumble. You can make frozen piecrusts if you are new to making frozen pies. This will help you to make the perfect piecrust. To make your piecrust, mix the water and butter in a large saucepan and place it over medium heat. After the butter has melted, add the flour and mix well. Once the flour has been added, stir continuously until you have a smooth dough ball. Form the dough into a ball, wrap it in plastic and allow it to rest at room temperature for at least 30 minutes. Roll out the dough to about an inch thick, and place it in a pie dish. Cut the dough into circles to make the piecrust, and fit it into the pie dish. The piecrust should fit the pie dish and the filling. Put the crust into the freezer, or fridge for 15 to 30 minutes before filling it. For the filling, prepare the pie filling before you fill the crust. Combine the brown sugar, salt, and shortening in a medium saucepan. Blend well to form a smooth paste.
How Do You Make The Best Frozen Pies?
Make the pie dough: Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Combine the flour, brown sugar and shortening in a large mixing bowl. Mix together in a pastry blender or fork until the shortening is evenly mixed in. Add the butter and milk and mix until a soft dough forms. Roll the dough out onto a floured surface and fold it over once, then repeat a few times. Chill in the refrigerator for at least one hour. Roll the dough out again and roll it into a 1/4-inch thick circle. Fit the pie tin, or pastry shell, on a baking sheet. Fill the shell with the pecans, arranging them as evenly as possible. For a single pie, dot 2 to 3 teaspoons of meringue on top of the filling. The pies can be frozen up to two months.
