My dog is shaking and acting really weird. He has only been acting like this for a few days and he never acted like this before. I want to know if it is anything serious and if it will be okay.

It’s Biting My Hand

What is he trying to do?

It is normal for dogs to act strange when they are afraid. This can be triggered by a variety of things. It could be an intruder, it could be fireworks, or it could be a thunderstorm. In this case, I think it is the sound of the thunder that is causing his reaction. He may also be getting over the fact that he just got a haircut. Or it could be that he is smelling smoke. It could be that he is sick and is reacting to his illness. It could be that he is just having fun and is trying to get attention.

It’s Scratching My Legs

At first, it didn’t seem like my dog was scratching my legs. Then I heard scratching. He had apparently figured out how to get to the top of the staircase. He’d head for the staircase, climb up and then go to a window. He’d push at it, scratch at it until he could open it and go outside.

Is This Normal?

This sounds scary. Can you see his eyes, or his face? And is he breathing? Is he eating or drinking? Can you tell if he’s moving around? Sometimes this is called a “thumping” or “shaking”. If you can’t see him, and he’s standing, he’s not likely to be shaking because he can move around. If you can’t see him and he’s on the floor, he’s likely to be shaking because he can’t move around. If he’s on his side, or on his back, he’s most likely to be shaking because that is when he’s experiencing the most pain. This is a good opportunity to make sure you call your veterinarian immediately to make sure he’s okay.
