How I got into cooking

I started off as a somewhat typical student. I attended school and did homework, I had a little free time in the evenings to exercise, and I had plans to go to college. I was a very typical student. However, when I was a freshman in high school, I took a break from my studies and started a part-time job at a restaurant. At the time, I was in the process of learning to cook myself, which I was quite good at. I was a really great cook. However, I was also interested in other hobbies and started to learn more about them, especially the culinary arts. I was in high school, and the restaurant was starting to have some trouble paying my college tuition, so I asked my high school guidance counselor if I could work there for the summer. She kindly agreed, and I started to help the restaurant out. I was the youngest cook on the staff, and I was the only one doing any kind of cooking, at least in the beginning. As I worked at the restaurant, I learned more about the restaurant industry. I worked a lot of different jobs and learned a lot of different things. I became a better cook and a better person.
