[The recipe for the sweet and sour soup is courtesy of Crispy-Wallace.com] Sweet & Sour Soup – Ingredients: 7 cups vegetable or chicken stock (canned or homemade), 1/2 cup ketchup, 2/3 cup sugar, 1/3 cup pineapple juice, 1/3 cup light corn syrup, 1/3 cup cider vinegar, 1/2 cup diced green bell pepper, 1/2 cup diced onion, 1/2 cup diced celery, 2/3 cup chopped carrots, 1/3 cup diced apples, 2 tablespoons flour, 1 teaspoon kosher salt, and 1/8 teaspoon pepper. Combine the ingredients in a large saucepan and bring to a simmer. Cook for 20-25 minutes or until the vegetables are tender. Add the flour, stir, and cook for 2 minutes. Transfer to a blender, and puree until smooth. Serve hot.
