These restaurants are famous for being the only Mexican pizza restaurants in the country that sell some extremely large pizzas that are incredibly thick and delicious. What’s more, the pizzas are served with authentic mexican toppings.
Taco Bell’s Questionable History
Taco Bell has had some interesting past. The first taco bell was opened in 1963, by Glen Bell. The restaurant was known for its signature product, the taco, which featured two patties, a meat mix, and a sauce. The first taco bell was so popular that Glen Bell decided to sell franchises for the company. To keep up with the demand, Glen’s son and heir of the company, Steve, changed the original recipe of the meat mix and the sauce, adding flour to make a taco shell. The first franchise restaurants were named after people like Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley. Glen Bell became less involved with the business, and began focusing on his other two pizza restaurants, Pizza Hut and Red Lobster. In the 1980s, franchisees began arguing over profits. Glen rejected a settlement that would have forced him to sell the company to the franchisees. Glen Bell died in 1987, and the family sold the company to PepsiCo. Taco Bell was under new management until the 1990s, when they were bought by the private equity firm CKE Restaurants. In 2005, another round of ownership led to a major crisis for the company. In 2015, the same private equity firm bought Taco Bell for $2.1 billion. As of 2017, Taco Bell was not owned by any one company.
Is Taco Bell Replacing the Mexican Pizza?
It seems like we are about to see the return of the Mexican pizza. Yes, Taco Bell is currently testing a new line of tacos that include a Mexican pizza. Taco Bell will be launching this new Mexican pizza line in about two weeks. This pizza has an interesting backstory. Back in 2012, the Mexican pizza maker, Morita Bake Shop, was purchased by Pizza Hut. Now, Pizza Hut was struggling back then, so the Mexican pizza maker closed all of its locations and started a relaunch of the Mexican pizza. The relaunch didn’t go well, and Pizza Hut decided to close all of the Mexican pizza locations. But now, Taco Bell is taking over. They are reportedly going to sell the Mexican pizza, which will come in 5 different flavors including: Cheese, Fajita, Bacon Ranch, Chicken, and Pepperoni. It’s safe to say that the taco bell is replacing the Mexican pizza. However, before you get all excited about all of the new Mexican pizza, it’s important to remember that you will only be able to find it at Taco Bell locations.
What About the Chicken Taco?
The Chicken Taco was the chain’s very first taco, which was rolled out at their “First Mexican Grill” restaurant in 1966. When it first came out, it consisted of seasoned chicken, sour cream, and cheese. However, in the decades since, it has been remodeled several times, most recently to include corn, beans, and cheese. The chicken taco was also re-branded as the Crunchwrap in the 1980’s, and has been known by several different names over the years, including the Dorito taco, the Choco taco, and the Veggie taco. While a chicken taco no longer appears on the menu at the original locations, the chain has experimented with other taco offerings, including bean, fish, and veggie options.
Is Taco Bell Going to Bring Back the Mexican Pizza?
While many food chains have dabbled in creating fusion dishes, Taco Bell has created one of the most successful fusion dishes in recent years. In 2006, Taco Bell created its Mexican Pizza. This pizza consists of a shell made from a corn tortilla, filled with a Southwest-inspired meat sauce, topped with cheese and more, and finished off with a pinch of cilantro and red pepper. This is one of the most-popular fusion dishes in Taco Bell’s history. More recently, Taco Bell introduced a new taco in 2018 called the Reuben Crunch. This taco consists of a California-style bun, filled with a combination of pickled cabbage, creamy Swiss cheese, pastrami, and Thousand Island dressing. This newest fusion dish is expected to be another smash hit for Taco Bell.

Taco Bell is reportedly planning to bring back their Mexican Pizza, according to a report from Business Insider. In 2017, Taco Bell launched its Mexican Pizza, which was a very popular menu item. The Mexican Pizza was launched just in time for the company’s 10th anniversary. But in a recent report, Taco Bell is reportedly planning on bringing back their Mexican Pizza. The report says that the Mexican Pizza will be available at over 1,000 restaurants, as well as in the “Taco Bell Happy Hour” at certain times of the day. The report also says that the Mexican Pizza will include an oreo crust and a spicy beef blend, as well as come with cheese and beans.
