Chewing Candy
Remember the song “Candyman”? In the song, the Candyman and his gang are eating candy and singing about it. People loved it when the group sang, “I can’t stop eating candy.” It’s true. Chewing candy is one of the worst ways to chew candy. You’re actually eating more and putting more of your teeth and jaw at risk. The movement of your mouth, tongue and jaw is really fast and the candy is often going down your esophagus. In fact, a study by Children’s Hospital in Philadelphia showed that children who chew their food actually have higher rates of obesity. So, whether you’re actually putting candy in your mouth or talking about it, chewing candy is one of the worst things you can do. To stop eating candy, use your teeth. Put a wrapper, plastic or paper in your mouth and hold it in place with your teeth. This will stop the candy from going down your throat.
Keep Yourself Supple
Whether it’s at a buffet or at a fast food restaurant, sometimes it can be hard to control your food intake. You might be tempted to overeat or pick a dessert after dinner. So, what can you do to make sure you have a nutritious and healthful diet? There are many reasons why you might be overeating. For one, you may be using eating as a form of comfort. Eating when you’re upset or stressed can be a way to calm yourself down. However, it’s not healthy to use food to comfort yourself. Another reason for overeating could be boredom. When you’re bored, it’s hard not to reach for something to satisfy your hunger. Plus, you might be skipping meals to cut back on calories or lose weight. This is actually a bad idea because your body needs to eat every three to four hours. Skipping meals can also make you tired and slow down your metabolism.
Counting Calories
In the fitness world, one of the most common mistakes that people make is counting calories. Counting calories is one of the biggest mistakes that people can make when trying to lose weight. The idea is that you can just eat a certain amount of calories, based on your body weight, and then you will lose weight. But the problem is, this is not necessarily true. People with a lower metabolism burn calories at a different rate, so they naturally have a lower calorie count than people with a higher metabolism. Other factors that can affect your metabolism include hormones and physical activity.
