What to Look for in a Tamale Recipe
Tamales are a traditional Mexican food, and a traditional part of the Day of the Dead celebrations. There are many types of tamales, but the most common is the masa and meat tamale. Some of the traditional fillings are: shredded chicken, pinto beans, rice and cheese. Tamales can also be cooked in a lot of different ways. One way is to steam them. For this recipe, you’ll need: ground beef, tamale dough, cilantro, red onion, tomatoes, garlic and chicken broth. Start by making the dough. Mix the corn masa with boiling chicken broth until it’s the consistency of oatmeal.
Do You Make Tamales Every Year?
Tamales are typically a very labor intensive dish to make. They are traditionally made with corn masa, a thick hominy flour mixture that is cooked and shaped into a loaf. Tamales need to be tightly packed to steam properly, so it’s a good idea to use a tamping tool. Most recipes will tell you to pack the tamales tightly. This can be a little difficult to do if you don’t have a tamping tool. You could try packing the dough into a well greased muffin tin, but I’ve never tried this method. You could also try the microwave method, where you can cover the tamales with plastic wrap and heat them on high in the microwave. Another alternative is to steam the tamales in a steamer. What Can You Steam on Stove?
It’s important to remember that your stove can get very hot and you can end up burning yourself if you don’t know what you are doing. Many stoves have a steam function, which creates a steam bowl that can be used to steam food. Some stoves also come with a steaming basket that can be used with your food. Or you can just use a baking dish and place your tamales on the stove to steam.

Step-by-Step Tamale Prep
There are so many steps involved in making tamales, they’re almost more work than the actual tamale itself. And tamales are notoriously difficult to make. They require a lot of labor-intensive processes that seem nearly impossible to do right. But the good news is that they’re actually really easy to make. The first step is to soak and clean your corn husks. Simply put, soak your corn husks in water and then dry them. Then cover them with a clean cloth and leave them in the sun to dry out. Make sure you pick the freshest husks you can find, and cut them in half lengthwise. Cut them open to soak the corn in a big pot or pan, with about a tablespoon of salt per cup of husks. Let this sit for around half an hour. And don’t worry if you have any small holes. They’ll get filled in later on. Finally, rinse and dry the husks.
