This is a good-tasting meatloaf recipe. In fact, the ingredients of this meatloaf actually make it easier to smoke a meatloaf than most other recipes. The flavor and the texture of the meatloaf is more comparable to a smoked meatloaf. The only difference is that you have to give it a little bit of time to dry out and cook in order for it to get that smokey flavor that a smoked meatloaf has. You may have to smoke the meatloaf a few times if you don’t get it quite right the first time. But, you can then cook the meatloaf again and smoke it a little bit more and then get the perfect smokey flavor.
Make the ultimate steak and potatoes
A classic steak and potatoes meal can be made by topping a ribeye with a mashed potato and a pat of butter. Then, it’s finished with a hot sear. But this traditional steak and potatoes meal can be made into a healthier meal by using smoked meatloaf. This dish can be made by prepping some beef or pork meatloaf. Cut the meatloaf into bite sized cubes. Then, soak the cubes in buttermilk for a couple of hours. While the meatloaf is soaking, you can prepare the rest of the meal. Using a cast iron skillet, warm a drizzle of canola oil over medium heat. After the oil is hot, sear the meatloaf for about 4-5 minutes until a crust forms. Move the meatloaf to a plate and cover with aluminum foil. Once the meatloaf is done, use a meatloaf mike to flip the meatloaf, and repeat the searing process on the other side. Finish off the steak and potatoes meal by topping the meatloaf with a grilled asparagus salad. For the asparagus salad, cut the stalks off a couple of bunches of asparagus.
