How to Get Rid of Grease From Your Jeans
It’s easy to get grease on your jeans, especially in an oily city like New York. The only way to get rid of this grease is to get the stains out. You can use household items to get the grease out, but you’ll need to be careful. There are products that promise to get grease stains out, but these can be harsh. Instead, try a few of the tips listed below.
Why Do Washing Machines Do This?
When you wash your jeans, they can pick up bad odors. The reason this happens is because the detergent you use will attach itself to the dirt on the clothing. Once the detergent is attached to the dirt, it will be absorbed into the clothing, creating a “greasy” residue. To prevent this from happening, you can run your washer under hot water. This will cause the detergent to break apart, removing the bad smells and allowing you to wash your clothes more easily.
Step By Step
Of course, most people probably don’t want to throw their jeans away right after wearing them. If your jeans are still good, you may be able to use an enzymatic cleaner to remove the stains. If your jeans are bad, you can wash them in a washing machine with a detergent. Then you can use a dry cleaner to get rid of the grease. To remove grease from jeans, first remove any buttons. Then soak the jeans in warm water with a little laundry detergent. Make sure you do this at the low end of the water heat setting. Then put the jeans into the washer with a few tablespoons of liquid dish soap. Don’t use fabric softener. Put the machine on the hottest wash cycle. Put some peroxide in a spray bottle to clean the denim. Spray the stain. Then rinse the jeans and hang them to dry.

Grease can be very difficult to remove from your clothes. It can even be hard to find out where it’s at on the clothes. It’s usually just found in one area on the clothes and has a brownish color. You can use different methods to remove the grease from your jeans. Hand soap and detergents are some of the best options. You can also use a washboard.
