Recently, I installed a cheap soft close drawer on my EK Multifunctional Desk. After a few weeks of use, the drawer has finally begun to close properly. I will share the steps I took to fix the issue.
Removing Drawers
In this video, I show you how to remove a soft close drawer. There are a few parts to this video, so make sure you watch it all the way through if you want to learn how to remove a drawer. First of all, we will look at the mechanism of this drawer. You can see that it is a soft close drawer. We can see the lever on the left hand side. As you can see there are two parts of this lever. On the right hand side, you will see the drawer pull. And on the left hand side, there is a little cup. The cup sits on the left hand side of the drawer, and the lever comes down and closes the drawer. And it also stops the drawer. When you pull the drawer out, it stops and there is no motion.
How to Install a Hard Close Drawer
Installing a hard close drawer is a great way to ensure that your drawers close completely, but also understand how to fix any problems that may come up along the way. If you have drawers that close, but don’t close completely, there are a few things that you can do. First, check to make sure the drawer mechanism is not jammed. If you have drawers that just close on their own and don’t actually latch, there are a few things you can do to help get it fixed. If you can’t move the drawer, or if it isn’t latching, it may be an indication that the drawer spring is broken. A broken spring can cause the drawer to just close on its own and not latch, so it is important to repair it to ensure the drawer will open and close properly.
Pulling Out a Soft Close Drawer
A soft close drawer is one that is designed to automatically close when you pull it open. If your drawer uses a soft close design, then you don’t need to use tools to get it to open. All you have to do is pull open on the drawer, and it will automatically close. This is a smart design because it saves you the hassle of opening and closing the drawer by hand. And if your soft close drawer is too difficult to open, then you can use a pullout handle on the side of the drawer. This will allow you to open the drawer without using your hands. How to Fix a Soft Close Drawer?
