The first two weeks of summer are always full of holiday eating, and the second two are nearly as bad. The Fourth of July means extra hot dogs on the grill, while the beginning of the Labour Day weekend means ice cream and sugar-free cake, as well as many late-night snacks. The end of the summer brings another round of parties, barbecues, and snacks.

We all know how tempting it is to eat bad food on the weekend. However, that doesn’t mean we have to go through with it!

I’ve been getting pretty bad about eating too much of late. I’ve been eating too much junk food and feeling down. I’m sure you’ve been doing the same. We all have days where we’re too busy and can’t stop eating. These times are usually the days where we don’t have a healthy meal. I’ve been having late night cravings where I’ll eat something a bit too much. I guess it’s the beginning of something worse. I’m at that point where I have to say stop eating. This may be something you’ve had to deal with before.

This can include binge eating, purging and refusing to eat, excessive exercising, and body checking. This can include a number of behaviors, and anyone can suffer from eating disorders. There are many factors that can lead to having an eating disorder, and it is best to get professional help if you are struggling with an eating disorder.

What Should You Eat

When you start off a weight-loss journey, you may want to start out with smaller meals. Some experts recommend limiting yourself to 2 meals a day and following a meal plan for the first few weeks. This will allow your body to start burning fat and your metabolism to begin to adjust. Once your metabolism has adjusted to your new meal plan, you can start to expand your eating window. You can have 3 meals a day, or you can start to add snacks in between meals.

Why Do We Eat?

We eat for different reasons. Some of them are related to hunger, such as to get nutrients or to make us feel satisfied. Other times we eat because it feels good, such as when we’re not hungry. Still, other times we eat to have a pleasant experience, such as when we’re enjoying a meal with family or friends. To understand why we eat, it’s important to understand what motivates us to eat.
