I was at the grocery store and I had purchased two big round loaves of bread, wrapped in plastic wrap, and stacked in a bread basket. They were looking very cold and would not easily defrost. However, to my horror, the freezer was full and they were definitely going to be frozen. I looked for a solution and I could not find one. The best solution I could find was to actually microwave the bread, which was not very helpful.

Defrosting Bread

First things first: Start by cutting the roll into slices. The easiest way to do this is to place it on a cutting board and roll it into slices using a serrated knife. Alternatively, you can also use a bench knife and place the bread between two pieces of kitchen towel and press down.
Next, sprinkle the flour over a plate and roll the bread slices in the flour. Let the bread sit for a few minutes to allow the flour to stick to the bread. This will help you flip the bread without flipping the sides in the flour.
Use a spatula to flip the bread, then flip the bread over again and remove it from the plate.
Hold the bread in the air and brush off the excess flour.
Next, place the bread on a baking sheet or cookie sheet.
Finally, place the baking sheet in the oven on the lowest setting for 20 minutes. You want the bread to be warm throughout, but not too warm. The optimal baking temperature for the bread is between 350 and 375 degrees F.
