How to open dragon fruit
Dragon fruit is a small tropical fruit from the kumquat family. It’s a small, elongated fruit with an oval shape, and a rough exterior. It looks similar to a grapefruit, and is often referred to as a kumquat grapefruit. Dragon fruit is in season from May to August. Dragon fruits are primarily cultivated for their edible fruit. It has a sweet, tart taste, and is most commonly eaten in Southeast Asia. The juice is used as a coloring and flavor agent in many Asian dishes. It is often found as a snack or dessert, but it can be eaten for breakfast. Dragon fruit contains fiber, vitamin C, vitamin A, vitamin B6, and calcium. You can buy dragon fruit in the summer months, and often in Asian grocery stores.
