It’s the perfect time of year for s’mores and other campfire treats. It doesn’t have to be hard to make them, though, thanks to some helpful tips and tricks.

Place Your Pots On Fire To Get The Fire Started

The method in which you heat your marshmallows depends on the size of your marshmallow cooker. If you have a two liter marshmallow maker, you need to put the pot in the oven and heat it for about 10-15 minutes. This will melt most marshmallows. You can use your stove to help start the fire, but if you don’t have a lot of experience doing this, I’d suggest buying a marshmallow cooker.

How Do I Know When The Pots Are Ready To Burn

After about ten minutes the marshmallows are burning quite quickly. I take the pan off the heat and let the fire cool down. I turn the marshmallows over to the other side. Next, I take the pot off the heat and let the marshmallows sit on the lid for about 10 minutes. Now that the marshmallows are ready I can turn them over to the other side. I also turn the oven off.

Look Away From The Pots When You Melt Your Marshmallows On The Stove

To melt marshmallows on the stove, you should hold the marshmallow above the flame, and slowly move the pot towards the flame. The marshmallow will stick to the bottom of the pot. Move the pot closer to the flame, and heat the bottom of the pot. Once the marshmallow is sticking, slowly move the pot towards the flame. If you don’t want your marshmallows burnt, you will have to move the pot slightly away from the flame. Hold the marshmallow above the flame for around 4 seconds. The marshmallow will stick to the bottom of the pot. Remove the pot from the heat, and carefully remove the marshmallow from the bottom of the pot.

A Few Tips for Making Better Marshmallows

It is easier to make better marshmallows if you follow these few tips: Make sure your pan is clean. Use only one pan or if you’re making marshmallows for a crowd, separate the pans.
In a large pan, pour the water and sugar, and place it over medium heat. Bring the mixture to a boil, while stirring. It will start to boil as soon as the sugar dissolves, about 5 to 10 minutes. When the mixture starts to boil, reduce the heat to medium low and allow it to simmer for 10 minutes.
Next, add in the corn syrup. The mixture will boil again. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 25 minutes. During this time, the marshmallows will bubble and thicken, and the syrup will cook down to a light honey consistency. Stir constantly.
Finally, add in the gelatin. Once you see bubbles in the syrup, add the gelatin. Stir the gelatin in until it is all dissolved. Remove from heat and allow it to cool for 5 minutes. Pour the marshmallow into the molds and allow it to cool. Unmold the marshmallows by running a sharp knife along the edge of the pan.
Marshmallows taste better if you let them sit for a day or two.
