The Easiest Way to Make Rice Not Mucky
This is the simplest way to keep rice from becoming watery. Once you cook the rice, you should drain off about 2/3 of the cooking liquid, so that it doesn’t end up being watery. However, there’s a way to keep that from happening. Once you have the cooking liquid drained, add two to three times as much cold water to the rice as the cooking liquid. Let the rice sit for a few minutes before serving, and it should be as fluffy as you’d expect it to be.
Preparation
Step 1: Bring a pot of water to a boil. Step 2: Meanwhile, wash your rice, drain it, and put it into a dish or pot that will fit inside your rice cooker. Step 3: Put a lid on your pot of rice and place it in the rice cooker. Step 4: Turn the rice cooker on and set the time to the shortest setting. Step 5: While your rice is cooking, prepare your other ingredients.
Step by Step
Now that you’ve learned about making rice not mushy, you’re probably thinking that the instructions are too complex. Maybe you’re just not sure where to start. Don’t worry, I’ve included all the tips and instructions you’ll need to make this rice not mushy.
How To Keep Rice from getting Mummyish
To keep rice from getting mushy or mummified, add a pinch of salt, a teaspoon of oil or as much as a tablespoon of vinegar. Mix the ingredients well and add the rice as soon as the water starts to boil. This will also prevent the rice from sticking together.
What are our Ingredients?
There are several ingredients that are essential for making great rice. The first step is to use only rice that is on the short side. Ideally, a mix of rices will have less than 2 inches of grain. The next step is to wash the rice before cooking. This removes any dirt or debris. Then, the rice should be soaked in cold water for at least 2 hours. After that, you can now drain the rice, which will take about 10 minutes. This is the crucial step that will make the rice cook properly. It will take about 20 minutes for the rice to cook in most of the stovetop rice cookers, so be sure to set the timer. While the rice is cooking, you can now add your ingredients. Remember, there is no salt for most of the rice recipes, and very little sugar. Add other ingredients, such as cheese, or dried herbs. When the rice is done, you will then want to serve it immediately. The best rice can be enjoyed as is, but you can also enjoy it with a few toppings like corn, or veggies.
